OK ,,, We practiced two of the more popular strums (D = Down strum, U = Up strum):
D-DU-DU ("1, 2 and, 3 and") and
D-DU-UDU ("1, 2 and, and 3 and")
Get these two patterns down and you've made a major leap forward in your playing!

You'll notice that the two above are listed as strums #13 and #2
What's nice about this link is that it also has audio snippets so you can hear what
the strums sound like.
Check them out and see what you like.
(I really like #6 which is easy and contains a "chunk" strum (the "x")).
